The difference between a corporate blog and a website –Part 2

We have a website. Should we build a corporate blog?

What is the difference between a corporate blog and a website?

As our previous post discussed, a corporate blog is quite different from a corporate website. Your website is your essential part of online marketing presence and can be considered as an online brochures. Your blog is your public relations representative and can also be considered as a search engine marketing platform.

A blog is quite different from a website created by html codes. Blogging uses a user-managed platform to publish articles via the Web. These articles are usually published in descending order with the most recent articles first.

Generally, the blogging platform consists of the front-end and the back-end. The front-end of a blog is the basic user interface for the website visitors to view on the publication on a blog. It usually consists of a header, body, blog post, sidebar, footer, contact information, a search field, and a RSS (really simple syndication) feed address, etc. The back-end of a blog provides the editor’s features and the administrative capabilities for managing users, categories, pages, and design of the blog.

Besides, it may expand the blog’s functionality with the following:

1) Widgets

2) Plug-ins

3) Application Programming Interface (API)

As a conclusion, a blog is a very powerful communication and emarketing tool and can have many benefits. Hence, many businesses employ website, corporate blog, and social media as the emarketing strategy.
